Harry Reid in hospital with broken ribs, facial bones

January 2, 2015 by 4politics.org 1 Comment

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid is in a Las Vegas hospital following injuries sustained while exercising at home.

A statement issued Friday by Reid’s office said doctors expect a “full recovery.”

“A piece of equipment Senator Reid was using to exercise broke, causing him to fall and break a number of ribs and bones in his face,” according to the statement. “Senator Reid will return to Washington this weekend and be in the office Tuesday as the Senate prepares to reconvene.”

Adam Jentleson, the senator’s spokesman, told the Associated Press that the accident occurred when an elastic exercise band broke and hit the 75-year-old Reid in the face, causing him to fall. As the senator fell, Jentleson said, Reid struck part of the equipment and broke several bones near his right eye. Reid broke several ribs as he hit the floor.

Jentleson said tests found no bleeding in his brain or other internal bleeding.

Reid’s security detail first brought him to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nev., after the accident occurred Thursday. He was transferred to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas for further testing and was admitted overnight “as a precaution,” the senator’s office said. Reid is expected to be released later today.

Are you kidding me? So you want me to believe that Harry Reid was just working out on some machine, it broke, and he broke ribs and bones in his face? First why won’t they name the machine? Second, broken ribs and he will be back to work on Tuesday? I have broken ribs in my 30’s and it took a month or 2 before I was not is some pain. He is old and there is no way if he really broke ribs would be back to work that soon. You can’t hardly move when you break ribs. Breaks his face? Are you kidding me? If he falls hitting the floor breaking ribs he is a frail old man. We all get old and I don’t disparage this fact. There is more to this story that we are not getting.

I think he has lost his faculties as has Nancy Pelosi and are beyond the limit of representation. Representation is a public service, not a job. If you think for one minute he a true representative for the people in his state then you are partisan and that is not a true representative for all the people. I understand this is not how it works but still should be said.
